A latest possible threat has been alerted for Facebook users. Spammers are now attacking the 400 million users on Facebook, in an attempt to steal their passwords. A lot of people have been affected by this, as they would believe this email has been sent by Facebook, due to the previous security changes that it underwent.
Spammers are sending emails that look like they are from Facebook, stating that their Facebook password has been changed. They also give a link to verify their new password. As soon as the user clicks on that link, it installs an attachment on the users computer. This enables the spammer to steal all the passwords that are being used on that computer, not just the Facebook password. McAfee has already given this warning, due to the many users being affected.
The messages may appear something like the below message:
Users from all the major countries are being affected by this. So Facebook users beware of something like this before clicking on a link. Don’t open any spam mail from Facebook and install a good anti-virus.
Let us know, if anyone of you or someone you know has got affected by this, in your comments.
