If you are a Pakistani and damn angry of your friend trying to message him F**k You then you would not be able to do that as in a recent step by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has banned 1795 profane words which PTA thinks as spam and it is all over the web. What Loudable team has done here is compiled all the words which are banned in English and Urdu and listed below.

On asking about banning these words in Pakinstan Muhammad Talib Doger, Director General (Services) PTA said,

Protection from Spam, Unsolicited, Fraudulent and Obnoxious Communication Regulations, 2009″ and the SOPs laid down to control spamming. The letter is written with reference to a meeting held with mobile phone operators on October 18, 2011 in Islamabad

Now when we talk about spamming or profanity it is somewhat defined like this in Wikiepedia,

Profanity is a show of disrespect, or a desecration or debasement of someone or something. Profanity can take the form of words, expressions, gestures, or other social behaviors that are socially constructed or interpreted as insulting, rude, vulgar, obscene, desecrating, or other forms.

The original meaning of the adjective profane (Latin: “in front of”, “outside the temple”) referred to items not belonging to the church, e.g., “The fort is the oldest profane building in the town, but the local monastery is older, and is the oldest building,” or “besides designing churches, he also designed many profane buildings”. Over time, the meaning has changed.

Now when I looked at few words they do not make any sense to me by banning those as words like athlete’s feet, creamy, taxi  are perfectly fine and there is nothing bad with them. Do let me know what you feel about this.
